To be eligible for the Temporary Skill Shortage visa (subclass 482) – Short-term stream, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Hold an appropriate visa if applying in Australia
  • Comply with previous visa conditions
  • Be nominated by an approved sponsor
  • Work for your nominating employer
  • Have relevant skills, qualifications, and employment background to perform occupation
  • Have worked in your nominated occupation or a related field for at least 2 years
  • Have a positive skills assessment if mandatory
  • Have health insurance
  • Meet the health and character requirements
  • Be a genuine temporary entrant (GTE)
  • Not have had a visa cancelled or a previous application refused in Australia
  • Have no debt to the Australian government
