Aged Parent visa (subclass 804) Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Aged Parent visa (subclass 804), you must meet the following requirements:
- Have an eligible child who is a settled Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen
- Be old enough to receive the age pension in Australia
- Not have already applied for or hold a Sponsored Parent (Temporary) (subclass 870) visa when applying for this visa
- Be sponsored by an eligible sponsor who must be approved by the Department of Home Affairs
- Meet the health and character requirements
- Meet the balance-of-family test
- Have assurance of support
- Have paid back your debt to the Australian government
- Not have had a visa cancelled or a previous application refused
- Sign the Australian values statement
