Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) – Graduate Work stream, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be under 50 years of age
- Hold an eligible visa
- Have held a student visa in the last 6 months
- Have a qualification relevant to an occupation on the skilled occupation list (Note: not required for applications lodged between 1 July 2022 and 30 June 2023)
- Have applied for a skills assessment in your nominated occupation on the skilled occupation list (Note: not required for applications lodged between 1 July 2022 and 30 June 2023)
- Provide evidence of adequate health insurance for all applicants
- Provide evidence you have applied for an Australian Federal Police check
- Provide evidence of the required level of English proficiency
- Meet the Australian study requirement
- Have skills and qualifications that Australia needs (nominate 1 occupation on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List, have a relevant degree, diploma, or trade qualification, and have your skills assessed by a relevant assessing authority)
- Have adequate health insurance
- Meet the health and character requirements
- Sign the Australian values statement
- Have no debt to the Australian government
- Not have had a visa cancelled or a previous application refused in Australia
