Will the applicant be accompanied by dependent children at any time during their stay in Australia on this visa?
A "dependent child" means your natural, adopted or step child who:
• has not turned 18; or
• is over 18 years of age and is dependent on you ie they are still studying; or
• is over 18 years of age but is incapacitated for work due to the total or partial loss of bodily or mental functions.
Please note that children who have a spouse or are engaged (to be married) are automatically excluded from being dependent children.
The conditions of the Working Holiday visa require that you have no dependent children accompanying you at any time during your stay in Australia.
Warning: answering this question incorrectly can lead to subsequent cancellation of a granted visa. Therefore it is very important to declare any dependent children.
If you would like a dependent child to join you in Australia you must apply for a different visa such as a Tourist visa (no work rights).
If you have dependent children who will not accompany you at any time you must apply for a Working Holiday visa using the paper application which must be lodged through your nearest Australian Embassy/Consulate office.
