The decision to grant any Visa is made by the Australian Government. Migration Expert is not affiliated with the Australian Government and provides Visa services and assistance on a professional fee basis.
In most cases, your Electronic Travel Visa (ETA) application will be processed and granted within minutes. However in certain instances, we may require clarification of information you have provided and we will not be able to lodge the application until this additional information is required. If any details have been entered incorrectly or are incomplete, your application may also be delayed.
In some instances, an ETA visa applicant may receive a 'referral' message from the Australian High Commission. In this instance, you will be contacted through the Client Area and will be required to provide additional information in order to proceed with your application. Please note that if any request for further details is made by Migration Expert, your ETA application will not be processed until the requested information is received.
Please do not arrange any travel to Australia until you have received email notification that your ETA request has been approved by the Australian Government. Migration Expert takes no responsibility for changes to a client's travel plans due to ETA processing.
In most cases, your application for an E Visitor Visa will be submitted to Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) within 48 hours of payment.
In some cases, it is possible for an EVV to be processed and granted within minutes. Other applications require assessment by a departmental case officer and you may be required to provide additional documentation, such as bank statements, evidence of employment and proposed travel itinerary after the application has been lodged. In these cases, processing can take in excess of 2-10 working days after the documentation has been provided and in the event that your application is referred to an overseas post for verification, there will be further delay.
The DIBP do not consider booked flights to be 'urgent' or a motivating factor to speed up applications. A compassionate/compelling reason for travel is what the DIBP may consider "urgent". The definition of compassionate/compelling application refers to death in the family in Australia or terminal illness of a family member in Australia. Birthday parties, sporting events, weddings and an imminent flight are not urgent. The DIBP is not accountable for any loss incurred due to delay in processing the application outside your proposed timeframes. Similarly, Migration Expert is not able to guarantee that any requests for urgency sent to the DIBP will be acted on and cannot be held accountable for any delay on the part of DIBP in responding.
In light of the above, we strongly recommend that you do not arrange any travel to Australia until you have received email notification that your EVV request has been approved by the Australian Government. Migration Expert takes no responsibility for changes to a client's travel plans due to visa processing.
