New Work and Holiday agreements with Hungary, Luxembourg and San Marino

February 01, 2017

The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) recently announced that Australia has successfully facilitated reciprocal Work and Holiday Visa agreements with three new countries: Hungary, Luxembourg and San Marino.

Starting from the 1st of January 2017, applications can now be submitted to the DIBP.

The new agreements now permit:

  • Up to 200 Hungarians
  • 100 Luxembourgers
  • 100 Sammarinese

to enter Australia per year. Successful applicants will be allowed to enjoy an extended holiday of up to 12 months where they can engage in short-term work and study.

Due to the reciprocal nature of the agreement, each nation will admit the same number of young Australians to work and holiday in their respective countries.

As per Work and Holiday requirements, applicants must be between the ages of 18 – 30.
