Australian Work and Holiday Visa Basic Requirements
In order to qualify for a Work and Holiday visa, applicants must be between 18-30 years of age and hold a passport from a country which has a reciprocal arrangement with Australia. Applicants are also required to satisfy certain health and character requirements in order to meet the visa criteria.
A Work and Holiday visa allows the holder to supplement their holiday through incidental short term and casual work. Those wishing to travel to Australia primarily to work should consider an Australian Work Visa.

Australian Work and Holiday Visa Entitlements
An Australian Work and Holiday visa is valid for 12 months from the date of first entry and holders are permitted to leave and re-enter Australia any number of times during this period.
Work and Holiday visa holders are entitled to work for up to 6 months with each employer and undertake up to 4 months of study or training.

Skilled Independent Visa
The Skilled Independent visa (Subclass 189) is a permanent residency visa for those with qualifications and skills in demand. Applicants are required to pass a points test and do not require sponsorship. -
Skilled Nominated Visa
Individuals who do not meet the pass mark for the Skilled Independent visa may be eligible to be sponsored by a participating State or Territory government (Subclass 190). This category is also available to applicants who are able to meet the pass mark but wish to access priority processing. -
Skilled Regional Sponsored Visa
Individuals who agree to live and work in a specified regional area of Australia and are sponsored may be eligible to apply for a Skilled Regional Sponsored visa (Subclass 489). -
Employer Nomination Scheme
The Employer Nomination Scheme enables Australian employers to sponsor highly skilled workers to live and work permanently in Australia. This category also allows similar opportunities for regional employers to sponsor highly skilled workers to regional areas of Australia. -
457 Work Visa
A Temporary Business 457 Work visa entitles approved skilled workers to work temporarily in Australia if they are sponsored by an employer. -
Working Holiday Visa
A Working Holiday visa provides 18 - 30 year olds the opportunity of a lifetime to enjoy an extended holiday in Australia combined with short term employment.
